Laser Hair Removal

With over 15 years experience in the industry, Lumiere Beauty offers an option of lasers to suit individual need and budget.

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure to remove unwanted hair on your face and body.

How does it work?

Laser hair removal uses a process called selective photo thermolysis. Heat from the laser destroys cells that have pigmentation (colour). As dark hair has a lot of pigment this will absorb the most heat through to the follicles and destroys them. This however means that hairs that are blonde/white cannot be treated.

A hair follicle has to be in its anagen, or growth, stage for the procedure to work. Follicles are in different stages at different times, so most people need multiple laser treatments.

PRP

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment is a revolutionary technique utilising extracts from your own blood for a variety concerns.

What is it?

PRP is created by drawing blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets and fibrin from the rest of the blood. Using a very fine needle, the plasma is then injected back into the area of concern.

How does it work?

Your own platelets release growth factors triggering the surrounding cells to proliferate, stimulating repair and regeneration.
The injections can be given across multiple locations to give you an overall improvement to the area such as thickening the skin or stimulating hair follicles in the scalp.

PRP Skin Restoration

PRP benefits the skin by increasing collagen growth. Collagen is a protein in our body that keeps our skin from drying out and sagging. However, our body’s collagen production naturally slows down as we age by around 1% each year as we reach adulthood. With PRP skin restoration areas of the face/body will be meso-injected with the concentrated growth factors thus stimulating collagen production. As the meso-injection method is used, the treatment can be more focused on areas of concern such as thinning skin and pigmentation around the eyes.

Vampire Facial

All round skin improvements can be achieved with a series of PRP facials (known as the Vampire Facial) to rejuvenate your skin naturally without much effort at all. The treatments utilise the plasma alongside micro-needling to address texture, pigmentation and skin laxity concerns. After a series of PRP facials you may notice that your skin will look fuller, healthier and more vibrant. The best thing about it is that the results may last for up to a year and there is little downtime.

PRF Hair Restoration

By injecting PRF into the scalp, the concentration of growth factors stimulate hair follicles, encouraging their transition from a dormant phase to an active growth phase helping to revive weakened or dormant follicles, leading to increased hair density, improved hair thickness, and a reduction in hair loss.

The effectiveness of PRF in promoting hair growth is supported by studies and clinical observations (see below links). Research indicates that PRF treatment stimulates the proliferation of dermal papilla cells which are vital in hair follicle growth and development.

Usual areas of PRP treatment

  • Scalp (increase hair growth/thickness)

  • Under eyes (dark circles/thinning skin)

  • Stretch-marks

  • General skin laxity

Current price is £189 per treatment and a course of 3 to 5 may be advised at monthly intervals dependent on the concern.
